The following questions and answers are designed to provide an understanding of The Club at Flying Horse and the membership opportunity available at the Club. As these questions and answers are only summary in nature, you should read the Membership Plan and Rules and Regulations prior to purchasing a membership.
What is The Club at Flying Horse?
The Club at Flying Horse (the “Club”) is a new private country club, located in the Flying Horse community in Colorado Springs, Colorado (the “Community”) featuring exceptional golf, tennis, swimming, fitness and social facilities. The Club is offering a limited number of Founder Memberships, Full Memberships, Corporate Memberships, Junior Memberships (sometimes collectively referred to as “Golf Memberships”), and Social/Fitness Memberships.
Who owns the Club Facilities?
Flying Horse Country Club, LLC, a Colorado limited liability company (the “Company”), doing business as The Club at Flying Horse, owns and operates the Club Facilities.
What facilities does the Club offer?
Members, their families and guests will enjoy the following exceptional “Club Facilities”:

  • 18-hole championship golf course designed by Tom Weiskopf;
  • Driving range, practice putting green and chipping green;
  • Indoor Golf Learning Center;
  • 43,000 square foot Clubhouse featuring a casual grille, fine dining, banquet facilities, private meeting rooms, outdoor terraces, lounge, complete golf shop and luxurious men’s and women’s golf member locker rooms;

Athletic Club & Spa to include the following:

  • 25 yard lap pool, activities pool and children’s splash pools with large deck surrounding the pool areas;
  • 9 tennis courts;
  • Full service spa;
  • Full size gymnasium;
  • Aerobics, cycling, yoga and cardio equipment and weight-training rooms;
  • Retail shop;
  • Lounge/healthbar;
  • Grille;
  •  Men’s and women’s locker rooms;
  • Terrace dining;
  • Children’s cabin
How many memberships will be offered in the Club?

The maximum number of memberships permitted in each category will be as follows:

Membership Category:

  • Golf Memberships: 900
  • Social/Fitness Memberships: Determined by Club from time to time
What are the privileges of a Founder Membership?
Founder Members will be entitled to use all the golf, Athletic Club & Spa and social facilities of the Club. Founder Members will not be required to pay greens fees or court fees for use of the golf and outdoor tennis facilities, but will be required to pay golf cart fees. Founder Members will be entitled to reserve golf starting times 14 days in advance.
What are the privileges of a Full Membership?
Each person who acquires a Full Membership will be entitled to the use all of the golf, Athletic Club & Spa and social facilities of the Club. Full Members will not be required to pay greens fees or court fees for use of the golf and outdoor tennis facilities, but will be required to pay golf cart fees. Full Members will be entitled to reserve golf starting times 7 days in advance.
What are the privileges of a Junior Membership?
Each person who acquires a Junior Membership will be entitled to use all of the golf, Athletic Club & Spa and social facilities of the Club. Junior Members will not be required to pay greens fees or court fees for use of the golf and outdoor tennis facilities, but will be required to pay golf cart fees. Advance sign-up privileges for golf tee and tennis times will be determined by the Club from time to time. In order to be eligible for a Junior Membership, the prospective member and his or her spouse, if any, must be under the age of 37.
What are the privileges of a Corporate Membership?
The Club may offer Corporate Memberships to actual legal, business entities, as determined by the Club from time to time, in its sole discretion. The Corporate Member can designate up to two “Primary Designees” and up to two “Associate Designees” for each Primary Designee. Each Primary Designee will count as one membership against the limit on the number of Golf Memberships. Associate Designees can use the golf facilities on weekdays only unless otherwise determined by the Golf Professional and will not count against the Golf Membership limit. Each Primary Designee will be required to pay the same dues and will be entitled to use the Club Facilities on the same basis as a Full Member. Each Associate Designee will be required to pay two-thirds of the dues payable by a Full Member and will be entitled to use the Club Facilities on the same basis as a Full Member during designated times. Each Corporate Member and its designated users must complete and submit a Corporate Membership Purchase Agreement and Corporate Designee Membership Agreement, respectively, as provided by the Club and such other forms as may be requested by the Club to verify the Corporate Member’s status as a bona fide business entity. Each designated user must be an owner, director, officer, partner, shareholder or employee of the entity and will be subject to approval of the Club, in its sole discretion. Each Corporate Member will be responsible for any unpaid dues, fees and other charges incurred by its designated users. A Corporate Member may change one or more of the designated users one time per membership year, upon payment of a re-designation fee and subject to the terms and conditions established by the Club from time to time.
What are the privileges of a Social/Fitness Membership?
Each person who acquires a Social/Fitness Membership is entitled to use all of the golf, Athletic Club & Spa and social facilities of the Club. Social/Fitness Members may play golf upon payment of Social/Fitness Member greens fees and golf cart fee. Social/Fitness Members will be entitled to eight rounds of golf each membership year (subject to change as determined by the Club from time to time), including rounds played by family members and guests, with a 2-day advance sign-up privilege to reserve golf tee times. The Club may restrict, in its sole discretion, the hours, days and/or months during which Social/Fitness Members may use the golf facilities. Social/Fitness Members may use the golf practice facilities only when playing a round of golf. Social/Fitness Members may reserve tennis court times in advance as determined by the Club.
What are the special features of membership in the Club?
In addition to exceptional Club Facilities the Club currently offers a number of attractive benefits. A brief description of some of these benefits follows:

Refundable Membership Deposit. The membership deposit paid for a membership is refundable upon resignation and re-issuance as provided in this Membership Plan. The amount of refund is provided in the Membership Purchase Agreement.
Immediate Family Privileges. A member, his or her spouse and their unmarried children, under the age of 23 who are living at home, attending school on a full-time basis or in the military are entitled to membership privileges as more particularly provided hereinafter.
Extended Family Privileges. The parents, children who do not fall within the definition of immediate family and grandchildren of the member and spouse and the spouses of such family members are also entitled to use the Club Facilities upon payment of preferred fees as more particularly provided hereinafter.
No Assessments. Members are not subject to either operating or capital assessments.
Inheritable. Upon the death of a member, the membership can be transferred to his or her spouse or adult child.
Club Newsletter. Members will receive a periodic newsletter containing information about events and activities at the Club and other items of interest.
Website. The Club’s website located at flyinghorseclub.com provides members with access to important up to date club information.

Will my family members be welcome at the Club?
Yes. The ability to spend quality time with members of the family is of paramount importance these days. A Golf Member’s immediate family is entitled to use the Club Facilities on the same basis as the member if the member pays the family level of dues. The immediate family of Golf Members who elect to pay the single level of dues will not be entitled to golf privileges, except as the guest of a member, subject to the Club’s Rules and Regulations concerning guest usage. The immediate family of all members will be entitled to use the Athletic Club & Spa and social facilities of the Club. A member’s immediate family includes the member’s spouse and their unmarried children under the age of 23 who either live at home, attend school on a full-time basis, or serve in the military. The Club provides programs and activities that are appealing to family members of all ages. A Golf Member’s extended family is permitted to use the golf facilities upon payment of preferred guest fees if the member pays the family level of dues. The extended family of Golf Members who elect to pay the single level of dues will not be entitled to golf privileges, except as the guest of a member, subject to the Club’s Rules and Regulations concerning guest usage. The extended family of all members will be entitled to use the Athletic Club & Spa and social facilities of the Club upon payment of preferred guest fees. The extended family includes the parents, adult children who do not fall within the definition of immediate family and grandchildren of the member and spouse and the spouses of such family members. The extended family member should be accompanied by the member unless alternate arrangements are made.
May I invite guests to the Club?
Yes. Having your friends enjoy the Club’s outstanding facilities with you is a wonderful attribute of membership in the Club. Therefore, members are entitled to have guests use the Club Facilities in accordance with the member’s category of membership and the rules and regulations adopted by the Club to preserve the exclusivity of its facilities.
When will the membership deposit be repaid to the member?
The membership deposit paid by a resigned Full, Corporate or Junior Member will be refunded after the initial issuance of a combined total of 250 Golf Memberships. The refund will be paid without interest, by the Club to the member within 30 days after the re-issuance of the resigned membership by the Club to a new member, in accordance with the “Transfer of Membership” provision in this Membership Plan. The membership deposit paid by a member will be refunded, without interest, by the Club to the member 30 years after the date the membership is issued by the Club if the member does not resign within 30 years. The initiation fee paid for a Social/Fitness Membership is non-refundable. The refund for Founder Members will be as provided in their Membership Purchase Agreements.
Who is eligible to acquire a membership in the Club?
Memberships are offered to initial purchasers of residences or home sites in Flying Horse and such other persons as the Club determines appropriate from time to time. In addition, a limited number of memberships are available to our neighbors residing outside of the Flying Horse community. Each initial purchaser of a residence or home site in Flying Horse may at any time within 30 days from the date of his or her closing on the residence or home site, apply for a membership in the Club, provided the Club has a membership for sale. The number of memberships in each category is limited and available memberships in each category will generally be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.
What happens if I do not apply for a membership in the Club within the 30-day period?
Any initial purchaser who does not apply for a membership within 30 days from the date of his or her closing on the residence or home site may apply for a membership at a later date only if one is available and not otherwise reserved by the Club, and only upon payment of the membership deposit which is in effect at the time the membership is acquired.
Can members be assessed to cover any operating deficits or capital improvements?
No. Members will not be subject to any liability for capital or operating assessments for the costs and expenses of ownership or operation of the Club or the Club Facilities. The Company will pay all operating deficits incurred in the operation of the Club Facilities and will retain all operating revenues resulting from operation of the Club Facilities. Annual increases in dues shall not be deemed an assessment.
How will the Club keep informed of the desires of the members?
The Club is committed to providing the types of services, programs, activities and events that the membership is desirous of having. An Advisory Board of Governors comprised of members of the Club will be formed and will enable members to have input on the foregoing items as well as other matters that are of concern to the members.
How do I become a member?
To become a member of the Club, you must submit to the Club a fully completed and signed Application for Membership, a Membership Purchase Agreement and a check in the amount of the required membership deposit in the case of Golf Members or initiation fee in the case of Social/Fitness Members. In the event your agreement is not acted upon favorably, the membership deposit will be fully refunded, without interest.
